Scubadive West's 'Make Me a Diver' Competition 2010
We are delighted to launch our 2010 'Make Me a Diver' competition, aimed at finding Ireland's next underwater explorer and offering them a complimentary (on the house, if you wish!) PADI Openwater Diver course, worth €595. 
How do I enter?
The competition is simple: send us your story on why you should become Ireland's newest diver. The competition is open to anyone from the age of sixteen years and upwards (we have no upper limit, so age is not an excuse for this one!). All we ask is that you put a smile on our faces with your prose. What you include is up to yourself. Maybe learning to dive has been a lifelong ambition of yours? Perhaps you have always kept a pet fish and now want to get up close, and personal with these guys? Or you just want something to impress your mates with down the pub? We don't mind.
Submissions need to be no less than a half-page, and no longer than a page in length. Photos of your cute pets, while always welcome, will not swing the judging in your favour. Scubadive West will remain stony faced even in the presence of four-legged cuteness. You have been warned...!
The Prize
The winner will receive a PADI Openwater Diver course at Scubadive West; including full tuition, dive equipment and related training materials. This prize is vlaued at €595. Not only this, but we will also include your accommodation for the duration of your five day course, bringing the total prize value to approximately €800. Accommodation is courtesy of the good folk in 'The Bard's Den' in Letterfrack. The Bard's Den is hugely popular with our visiting divers.
Terms and Conditions
- Minimum age for competition entry is 16 years
- No previous diving certifications; however, we will accept submissions from those who have undertaken Discover Scubadiving and Try Dives
- Be medically fit; review our Diving Medical Statement for this.
- Training to be undertaken during our 2010 season
- The prize is not transferable, so all submissions must come from the person intending to dive
- Closing date for entries is 1st April 2010
