Scuba Diving and Walking Holidays on El Hierro
El Hierro has become a regular favourite with adventurous Irish divers and walkers in recent years. The smallest and most remote of the Canary Islands, El Hierro offers superb diving and awe inspiring walking. El Hierro is located 70 miles from Tenerife on the most western edge of the Canarian archipelago.
Diving on El Hierro
The currents that fringe the outer edge of the archipelago bring warmer waters to El Hierro than to the other islands. Sea temperatures range from 21 - 24oC throughout the year. These warm currents promote greater growth underwater, and are home to temperate and tropical sea life. Visibility is generally 30 metres or greater.
Walking on El Hierro
This magical island is 5,000ft high and offers world-class scenery. The upper plateaus host green fields, stone walls, sheep, cattle and gotats. While a walk downwards through the pine forests and vineyards brings you through pineapple, banana and papaya plantations.
How do I get there?
